Queer and Feminist book club

October 29, 2017 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

As the weather warms up and the dry season fades as a happy memory, there is another book to add to your reading pile and a book club event to add to the calendar.
Sunday the 29th of October at 4.30 pm at the Darwin Railway Club where we will be discussing
Helen Garner (aka Australian feminist Great) novella The Children’s Bach
Athena and Dexter lead an enclosed family life, innocent of fashion and bound towards a disturbed child. Their comfortable rut is disrupted by the arrival of Elizabeth, a tough nut from Dexter’s past. With her three charming, chaotic hangers-on, she draws the couple out into a world whose casual egotism they had barely dreamed of. How can they get home again?

Where can you find the bookThere are two copies available in the Darwin City Library collection. There is also a copy available to loan from Books Gone Wilde, the community book library.
Future books– a proposal has been made for the selection of books to be rotated among members which sounds bloody brilliant to me! Come ready to self-nominate to choose the next book if you have a book in mind.
New members welcome!
