People Power! Stories and strategies from NT law reform campaigns

How do you go about changing unfair laws that affect you and your community? Come along to Brown’s Mart to hear our panellists discuss their own experiences of participating in grass roots law reform campaigns. Panellists will include:

1.Caitlin Perry, Darwin Community Legal Seevice, Treatment of LQBTIQ communities under NT law.

2. Jonathon Hunyor, North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA). Abolishing mandatory sentencing for property offences 

3. Justine Davis, Darwin Asylum Seeker Support Network (DASSAN). Ending mandatory detention, especially of children, abolishing offshore processing and improving treatment of asylum seekers

4. Traditional owners discussing the NT Seabed Mioning moratorium

5. Reproductive health activists discussing reform to the medical services act to clarify choice for women and girls.
