Darwin: AIDS candlelight vigil memorial

Join us in recreating the first Darwin AIDS Candlelight Vigil Memorial which occurred on Monday May 30th 1988.
Gather at RAINTREE PARK at 5:30PM to be welcomed by historian Dr. Dino Hodge in the original site of this landmark Vigil near the first NTAC office.
With candles & underscored by live music the walk will be followed by refreshments in CIVIC PARK with formalities & entertainment commemorating those we have lost to HIV/AIDS. The event will then celebrate the launch of NTAHC’s 30 year history project publication -‘You’re Not Alone’ by our Patron the Honourable Sally Thomas AC with a corresponding digital timeline mapping out the AIDS Councils’ history in Darwin and Alice Springs.
Entertainment includes the irrepressible Diva, Vogue Magazine as well as the heartfelt vocals of ‘Superstar lead’ Shalom Kaa & recent Seabreeze Festival sensation Adam Scriven… LIVE!
Toast a glass of champagne to those past and present, enjoy a selection of delicious canapes by award winning Karen Sheldon Catering & be inspired by NTAHCs’ passionate history.
